Botulinum Toxin is designed to diminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It is
versatile and can be strategically administered to address lines on the forehead, between
the brows, around the eyes, neck and mouth corners. It can also be used in treatment of
excessive sweating, teeth grinding, muscle spasms and tension headaches.
Good to know
When should I start getting Botox®?
Botulinum toxin type A is not an iron – its more preventative than restorative. It doesn't
erase wrinkles. Any deep line that is present at REST, is not going to disappear with
Botulinum toxin. Therefore, Dr Chanel advice patients to start as early as their 20s, but all
treatments are individualised.
How long does it take to get Botox®?
The procedure is quick, typically taking only a few minutes. Using a fine needle, Dr Chanel
will administer Botulinum Toxin into specific muscles, temporarily relaxing them. This
process minimizes the appearance of wrinkles, giving your skin a smoother and more
youthful look.
Is Botox® painful?
Most patients experience minimal discomfort during the procedure. If desired, a topical
numbing cream can be applied to enhance your comfort.
Will there be any downtime after Botox®?
One of the advantages of Botulinum Toxin is its minimal downtime. You can resume your
daily activities immediately after the procedure, making it a convenient “lunch time”
procedure for those with busy lifestyles.
What are possible side effects of Botox®?
Immediate side effect includes temporary bruising, bleeding or pain and discomfort at the
injection site as well as headache or flu-like symptoms. Bumps immediately after treatment
at the site of injection are normal and will go away within 30 minutes.
Rare side effects include an incomplete block, asymmetry, eyelid or brow ptosis and
migration of toxin. Please contact Dr Chanel immediately should this occur.
When will I see results?
While you may start to notice the effects within a few days, the full results typically become
evident within 1-2 weeks. Remain patient.
How long does Botox® last?
Unfortunately, it's miraculous effects would not last indefinitely. Generally, Botox® lasts 3-4
months. There will certainly be patients in which it lasts longer, in that 4-6-month range, or
shorter, in that 2-month range. There are a myriad of factors that can impact its effect
including the number of units injected, aftercare, exercise, using stimulants, your metabolism and patients who are very expressive. It is also common for first-timers to
notice that it may not last as long initially but may last longer after the second treatment.
We recommend scheduling regular treatments to ensure the best results!

About
What are Fillers?

Fillers are injectables containing hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring
substance in the body. These fillers are commonly used on the lips, cheeks, jaw, temples,
nose and chin, creating a plump and youthful appearance.
What can Fillers address?
-
Volume Loss: Restore or enhance volume that may have diminished with age.
-
Symmetry: Achieve balanced and harmonious contours.
-
Definition: Enhance features for a more sculpted appearance.
-
Fine Lines: Soften fine lines and wrinkles.
-
Lifting: Jowls, marionette lines, heavy eyebrows
When will I see results?
You''ll notice an immediate improvement in volume and shape. However, the full results
typically become more apparent as any swelling subsides, revealing the final outcome.
What if I am unhappy with the results?
All Fillers are completely reversible with Hyaluronidase, an enzyme that catalyse the
degradation of hyaluronic acid. Dr Chanel recommends waiting at least a month before
dissolving fillers to ensure that you see the final outcome, however ultimately this is your
choice. If you’re unhappy with the whole treatment, then she will dissolve everything. If,
however, there is a minor asymmetry or lumps then they may just spot dissolve or massage
that area. Either way, she will give you all the options and help you decide.

Do's and Don'ts after Filler
-
Do not massage or manipulate your face in the treated area for 4 hours unless
instructed by your injector. -
You can gently apply make-up after treatment, but do so with light motion instead of
rubbing. -
Apply ice for up to 24 hours, thereafter use any heat pads to alieve swelling,
bruising or pain. -
Use Arnica ointment if bruising is visible.
-
If you’re prone to cold sores, consider the use of anti-viral medication
-
Don’t sleep on your face the first night.

What are Skinboosters?

The foundation for healthy, glowing skin.
About
Skinbooster treatment are applied via microinjections to the skin. They are formulated to
naturally integrate into the skin and improving texture, elasticity, and smoothness of the
skin surface in patients of a wide variety of skin types, ages and genders. Skinboosters are
also an excellent option for patients looking to reduce the appearance of acne scarring or
sun damage on the skin. It’s safe to use on the delicate skin of the face and décolletage, as
well as the back of the hands.
How is a Skinbooster different from filler?
Skinboosters rely on hyaluronic acid akin to other hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, but its
formulation is designed to improve hydration and plumpness in the skin, rather than
producing volume. This is achieved by using a moderately cross-linked (fine particle)
formulation that integrates, moisturise and nourish the skin.
How long does Skinboosters last?
Typically, patients experience lasting hydration and optimal results for up to six months’
post-treatment. Patients can also undergo 2-3 treatment sessions, spaced about a month
apart, and enjoy incredible skin hydration and rejuvenation for up to a full year.

Sculptra ®
Discover the transformative effects of Sculptra, a non-surgical solution designed
to enhance your beauty gradually.
What is Sculptra®?
Sculptra is an FDA-approved injectable treatment that stimulates collagen production to
address volume loss, wrinkles, and facial folds. Its unique formulation offers a gradual and
natural-looking enhancement.
How does Sculptra ® work?
What areas can be treated with Sculptra ®?
Sculptra contains poly-L-lactic acid, a biocompatible substance that encourages collagen
synthesis. The gradual build-up of collagen restores volume and improves skin texture over
time, promoting a more youthful and refreshed appearance.

Sculptra is commonly used to address volume loss in the cheeks, temples, nasolabial folds,
marionette lines and the neck. It is a versatile treatment that can enhance facial contours
for a more harmonious and balanced look.
Is Sculptra ® a one-time treatment?
Sculptra is typically administered as a series of treatments spaced a few weeks apart. This
allows for a gradual and natural-looking improvement, and the number of sessions varies
based on individual needs.
Are there any downtime after Sculptra ® injections?
Sculptra injections involve minimal downtime. Sculptra is a powder which must be
reconstituted and suspended in sterile water before injecting it into the skin.
Immediately after your treatment you will feel full in the areas treated, which is a
direct effect from the water injected into those areas. This fullness will completely
disappear over several hours. Some patients may also experience swelling, redness, or bruising at the injection sites, but these effects are temporary and usually resolve within a few days.
When will I see results, and how long do they last?
Results from Sculptra develop gradually over several weeks, with the full effects becoming
noticeable after a few months. Please do not equate the lack of immediate results
with treatment failure – the results are delayed and will be slowly increasing over
time. The longevity of results varies but can last up to two years. Sculpra is the gift that keeps on giving!
Is Sculptra ® suitable for me?
Sculptra is suitable for healthy individuals seeking to address volume loss and improve facial
contours. A thorough consultation with Dr Chanel is essential to determine if Sculptra is the
right option for you.
Do's and Don'ts after Sculptra
Massage! Massage! Massage!
-
Firmly massage the entire treatment area 5 x daily for 5 minutes for 5 days with your fingers
and a greasy moisturizer or Arnica cream.
Injection-Lipolysis is recommended for people of normal weight with areas of stubborn fat
pockets. It is not suitable for severely overweight patients and other measures should be
considered. During the treatment, the active substance (PPC-DOC) is injected directly into fat pockets
with fine needles. This active ingredient dissolves fat cells. The body transports the released
fat to the lymphatic system and the liver. This is an amplification of natural processes that
take place in the body every day.

What is Phosphatidylcholine (PPC)?
Phosphatidylcholine is the principal structure of all human cell walls. It is an amphoteric
molecule, which means that it has both hydrophilic (water- loving), as well as hydrophobic
(water-repellent) properties. These properties contribute to the selective permeability of
the cell wall – allowing some substances to pass, but also retaining some sub- stances within
the cells, such as water, to protect the health and integrity, of cells.
Why is PPC combined with DOC?

Deoxycholate has an active lipolytic effect and, when injected into fat cells on its own, may
localise in certain areas, due to precipitation and cause a greater lipolytic effect in certain
areas, compared to others. This can lead to vacuolisation – areas losing more fat cells than
others – which can lead to irregularities. When Phosphatidylcholine is combined with
Deoxycholate, Phosphatidylcholine ensures that Deoxycholate remains in solution. This
reduces the risk of precipitation and consequently ensures a distributed effect. Research has
proven that a combination treatment involving Phosphatidylcholine and Deoxycholate leads
to a marked reduction in inflammation. This leads to less swelling and discomfort.
What are the indications for Injection-Lipolysis?
Injection-Lipolysis is indicated for the treatment of Localised Fat deposits, Cellulite, and
Lipomas.
Which areas can be treated with a combination
of Phosphatidylcholine and Deoxycholate?
-
Face – Double chin, Jowls, Jaw line, Marionette Folds, Nasolabial folds, and Cheeks
-
Bra bulges – Posterior: over the back; Anterior: bulg- ing fat on either side of the bra straps
-
Upper arms
-
Abdomen – “Stomach” – above and below the navel
-
Flanks – “Muffin tops”
-
Thighs – inner and outer thighs
-
Cellulite over the thighs
How long does Injection-Lipolysis treatment take?
Depending on the treatment area, the treatment time is 30-45 minutes.
Is Injection-Lipolysis painful?
Shortly after your Injection-Lipolysis session, you will notice a localised reaction in the form
of redness and swelling. A burning sensation, moderate pain and tenderness may be
experienced. These symptoms subside after a few days.
When will I see results after Injection-Lipolysis?

Fat pockets are usually visibly reduced within 4-8 weeks, depending on the extent of fat in
the treatment area. On average, 2-3 sessions at intervals of 8 weeks are necessary to
achieve optimal results. More than 85% of patients are very satisfied with their results after
2-4 treatments.
Why is the Liposolution PPC-DOC regarded an effective and safe solution?
Phosphatidylcholine in the Liposolution formula is extracted only from high quality Soy-
Lecithin. The concentration of Phosphatidylcholine in the Liposolution formula is high and
the correct ratio of Phosphatidylcholine to Deoxycholate ensures that the active
Deoxycholate remains in solution to prevent precipitation and vacuolisation when injected.
The advanced methodology applied in the manufacturing process of the Liposolution
formula ensures that Lyso-PC-levels, (by-products that form when PPC and DOC are
combined), are maintained below 1%. Lyso-PC levels are regularly tested.

About
What is Sclerotherapy?

Sclerotherapy is a well-established and effective method for Improving the appearance of
unsightly veins, enhancing circulation, and relieving associated symptoms. It is a minimally
invasive medical procedure to treat varicose and spider veins.
What causes varicose and spider veins?
There are various causes of spider and varicose veins, but your genes contribute to 95%.
Other causes include pregnancy, estrogen therapy, trauma to the skin, infections and
application of topical steroid preparations.
What are the difference between varicose and spider veins?
Both varicose and spider veins (also called telangiectasia) are manifesting due to an
underlying problem with reverse venous blood flow. Mild forms of venous insufficiency
(spider veins) are merely uncomfortable, annoying, or cosmetically disfiguring. It is usually
smaller, red, purple, and blue vessels often in clusters. Severe venous disease (varicose
veins) can produce serious systemic consequences. They are large, bulging and can be
painful. Sclerotherapy can treat BOTH these conditions.
How does Sclerotherapy work?

During the procedure, a special solution is injected directly into the affected veins, causing
them to collapse and eventually fade. This solution irritates the vein walls, prompting a
natural healing response that leads to the closure of the targeted veins.
Is Sclerotherapy painful?
In varicose veins, a higher concentration of drug is administered requiring very few injection
points. This high concentration often stings slightly when injected
Multiple injection sites are used for treating spider veins. A lower concentration is used and
doesn't burn. We also use the smallest of needles, inserted very superficially on the skin;
making this procedure is relatively painless.
What to expect after treatment?
Aftercare is very important in this procedure; All varicose veins MUST wear compression
stockings for 2 WEEKS, whilst spider veins only need a compression bandage for 48 hours.
When treating a vein successfully, it will never come back. NEW veins may form in
genetically predisposed patients. As soon as you notice a new vein, you can follow up for
treatment.
What are the side effects of Sclerotherapy?
While sclerotherapy is generally considered a safe and effective procedure, it may be
associated with some side effects. Temporary bruising, redness or swelling at the treated
site is common. A brownish discoloration of the skin can occur and resolves over time.
Is Sclerotherapy right for me?
No vein is too small or too big; wherever there is a vein, there is Sclerotherapy ;)
Contra-indications to Sclerotherapy includes a concurrent deep vein thrombosis and
pregnancy.
Do’s and Don’ts after Sclerotherapy
-
Walk 20 minutes daily for 2 weeks
-
No strenuous exercise 2 weeks after treating varicose veins, and 48 hours after
treating spider veins.
-
Follow up with Dr Chanel 2 weeks after varicose vein, and 4 weeks after spider vein treatment.
-
Any compression is better than no compression
